There are 3 main strategies:

Negative screening - which excludes companies from portfolios that do not meet a particular fund’s criteria, for example pollution

Positive screening - actively seeking out companies with positive, social and environmental characteristics, for example Sustainable Forestry

Engagement - lobbying companies on social and environmental issues to help encourage improvements in Corporate Behaviour
